Thank you for you interest in joining Elysium. Please understand that Elysium might be a little bit different than other guilds you may have encountered. So you can understand a little bit more about how we operate and see if it is the right guild for you, please read this post in its entirety and follow the directions contained within.

How to get more (or fewer) raid invites
Who we are looking for
Elysium is at heart a raiding guild. We cater to mature individuals who enjoy raid progression and understand its requirements. We strive to provide a structured and focused raiding experience while keeping a real-life-friendly attendance requirement of only three nights per week. We value players who are always looking for new ways to improve their gameplay, and who enjoy sharing their knowledge with others. We recruit people with low "drama potential", who are interested in raiding for the sake of progression as a guild first rather than for personal gain.
It should be noted that our guild structure and policies are all designed to support raid progression and not much else. Applicants who may have a reason to join the guild other than raiding should be aware that Elysium may not provide as much support for other activities as other guilds who aren't focused solely on raiding.
The Application Process
Take the time to read the posts linked above. Then fill out the Application Form.
If we think that you might be a fit for Elysium, we will contact you to set up an interview on Ventrilo. Please have the software downloaded and installed. It is a very fast download and will be required if you are accepted.
Following a satisfactory interview, you will begin an evaluation period during which you will be asked to run some heroic 5-man instances with Elysium members, as well as to participate on a few 10-man or 25-man raids. This will serve to evaluate your play skill, knowledge of the encounters, and general attitude, and will last until we feel we have a clear enough idea of whether you would be a good fit for the guild as a person and as a player.
If you are accepted, you will get a guild invite and be put on "Applicant" status for two weeks. As an applicant, you will have some raiding opportunities and will be eligible to get loot, however full members will have priority on loot over applicants. At the end of that two weeks if you and guild leadership are both pleased with the arrangement, you will be promoted to the rank of Reserve.
If you are being recruited for an immediate full-time raiding position, you will be observed for an additional period of time that will be no less than two weeks. If your Class Officer and Guild Leadership agree that you are a good fit for Elite rank, then you will be given the opportunity to apply for a promotion.
What you will be evaluated for
Elysium differs from many other guild in that above all else it values good people. Your interview will serve as a first step to get a feel for your personality and maturity level. Your behavior in game and on Vent will then be taken into account during your evaluation period. Don't be shy, just be yourself. Avoiding dialogue is only likely to require us to extend your evaluation period.
Please note that in raid chat, guild chat and raid channels on Vent, users are expected to keep their language "PG-13".
Unsavory or objectionable choices of character names will generally be considered as an indication of judgement and maturity level and are likely to be required to go through a name change before being invited to the guild.
In addition to who they are as a person, applicants who join with the intent of being a regular raider will be evaluated based on their performance, knowledge of their class, understanding of game mechanics and general raid preparedness (see below). Don't hesitate to contact our members or officers if you have questions about how we handle specific encounters or class-specific expectations.
Applying for a Reserve position with Elysium
If you are interested in raiding full-time but the class you are applying for is currently full, we may consider recruiting you for a Reserve position. This puts you in a situation where you have a "foot in the door". There is no minimum number of raiding opportunities attached to the rank, and depending on current members' attendance, you may not get to raid much or at all for a long time. However Reserve members who show high dedication, skill and good attitude are prime candidates for raid invites and ultimately full-time raiding when the right type of opnening becomes avaliable. Refer to this post for more info on what will get you noticed as a Reserve.
Raid Times
We raid some 25-man instance every Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. The Raid Calendar is always kept up to date and is viewable on web site's Home Page and Calendar. Raid invites are at 7:45pm. On weeknights, we raid until midnight server time. On weekends we raid until the job is done.
Raid Preparedness
To raid with Elysium, you will need to have ALL of the following programs/mods installed:
In addition to the above items that will need to be installed, you should be repaired, restocked, in possession of appropriate consumables and enough gold to pay for repairs from a bot. You will be expected to have good working knowledge of the various boss fights that you will be participating in. You are also required to have a working microphone that is properly setup and tested for use with Ventrilo. Failure to meet these requirements may result in your removal from raid.
Thank you for taking the time to review this information and good luck on your application.
