    Tizzlewump - Mage

    Overview
    1. Character Name / Level / Class / Specs(main/off):
I have a mage named Tizzlewump.  She has been on the shelf since 3.2 because my guild needed a tank or it was going to fall apart.  Her gear is still spotty but I have several upgrades available to me over the next week, please see #22.  It is ICC-25 viable or I would not be writing this.
If it would be much preferred, I also have a fury warrior named Wumpletizz.  Her dps gear is a little better than Tizzlewump's, but it has been her off set for the last few months and it shows.

    2. Why are you applying to Elysium?
Your schedule works for me.  Guilds that thrive on 2 nights of progress a week tend to run a tighter raid, which is the only way I can enjoy raiding.  I haven't been in a 25s guild since BC and I miss it.

    3. Have you completely read the post titled A Message For Applicants?
    Yes.

    4. Have you completely read The Rule?
    Yes.

    5. Have you completely read the post about our Guild Organization?
    Yes.

    6. Elysium currently raids 25-man instances from 8pm to 12am server time (US Central Time Zone) every Tuesday and Thursday. Would you be able to attend those nights 80% of the time or more, and do you forsee any changes in your availability in the future, such as a new work schedule or school, that would reduce the number of raids you can attend or require you to leave raids before they are over?
Those times are perfect.  They are the main reason I am applying.

    History
    7. Please list all Burning Legion raiding guilds you have been a member of on any character. This includes guilds that no longer raid or exist and characters you may have transferred, sold or deleted. Optionally, you may include guilds you have raided with on other servers.
    8. Please describe why you left your last raiding guild.
For Molten Core, Darkmoon on Dalaran-US.  For Hyjal/BT, Beyond Reckoning on Smolderthorn-US.  For the 10man track in Wrath, Obscured Reasoning here.  We are friends from vanilla who scattered for BC.  Since people have left over time, we can't really muster a steady raid anymore.  I am looking for a guild that can.  The 10man track is nice but it's much easier to find a 25man guild.

    9. Do you know any current Elysium members?  If so, what is your relationship to them?
No.  I bookmarked your guild's page a long time ago and have since forgotten who it was who made an impression on me.

    Raiding
    10. Please provide us with an account of your experience with raiding in WoW.
I particpated in legitimate progression raids to clear MC, Hyjal, and BT.  Everything in between I either skipped or was carried through briefly.  Everything after I did in the 10man version with OR.
My BC guild was "months behind" but we managed to kill Illidan twice before the big nerfs hit.  It's not impressive, but it's legitimate progression.  We had enough dead weight that SWP was never a serious option, but we were friends so raid kicks were not on the table.  The cool clique in our raid did ZA bear runs to compensate.
I was the proud owner of a leatherworking mage in BC.  If they added drums of battle back on Tuesday I'd be 450 LW by Wednesday.

    11. Please describe the things you enjoy about raiding.
    12. Please describe the things you don't enjoy about raiding.
Raiding is fun because min/max gaming is fun.  Past that, the people are what make it fun or not.  A steady group of the same people making steady progress is the heart of a good raid.  No matter how cleanly you do a pickup run, it can't replace that.
I am not a fan of distracted raiding.  Raiding has to be social but I like my pulls fast and my Vent clear.  Some raids find this attitude rude, but I think it's part of respecting the other 24 people in the raid.
My pet theory is that if you play well enough in raid, no wants to pull you off the dps lineup for heal/tank duty.  That's my definition of winning in the World of Warcraft.

    13. To allow for better raid composition or to help distribute loot where it will be most useful, how would your react to being asked to sit out raids while remaining available to fill-in if a spot opens up mid-raid?
I prefer raids with this policy.

    14. What spec/roles are your favorite and least favorite for your character? (tank/heal/dps, holy vs disc, frost vs arcane, etc)
Mages spec for dps, there isn't much preference involved.  I will admit that I like the mobility of fire but right now fire is only really good for improved scorch (but yeah I saw the ptr notes).  In theory I run arcane+fire as my dual specs but in practice it's arcane+"whatever exploits the most gimmicks in tonight's raid".  I am happy to be a scorch bot because I have control issues when it comes to raid buffs.  Tizzle's current arcane spec needs to be tuned for pushback and IA, but her fire spec is fine.
My warrior is quite comfortable tanking but I am not interested in running progression raids as a main spec tank.  Fury shows no sign of giving ground to arms any time soon but again, I am happy to be a debuff bot.  Wumple's fury spec is fine although I can move commanding presence to improved demo shout if you wish.

    15. How do you plan to provide your own flasks for nights we are raiding?  This can sometimes be as many as ten flasks per week.

    Technical
    16. Do you have a working headset microphone configured to work with Ventrilo using a "push-to-talk" button?
    Yes.

    17. Do you frequently experience high latency, disconnects, client crashes, choppy frame rates?
    No.

    18. What addons do you currently use? Please provide a screenshot of your current UI.
X-Perl, Bartender4, Satrina Buff Frames, Gnosis, PowerAuras Classic, Recount, DBM.  For gearing I use Landsoul's spreadsheet on Wumpletizz and Rawr for Tizzlewump.

(That swiftness potion should be a potion of speed, holdover from an old pvp keybind.)

    19. If possible please provide a link to a recent raid report (WoW Meter online, World of Logs, etc)
Every time I run a pickup ToC I forget to log it.  If I did log it, I probably wouldn't study it.  My friends don't parse, we just get by with Recount.  If your guild does parse, I'll pick up the habit quickly.  If this parse is very important to you, I still have this week's ToC cooldowns.

    Personal
    20. How old are you?  Thirty as I write this.
    21. Do you speak English fluently?  Yes.
    22. Anything else you feel we should know about you?
Tizzlewump has been in cold storage while I was tanking on Wumpletizz.  Wumpletizz spent frost emblems on prot gear because that's what my raid needed.  I'm hoping you'll cut me a little slack on that count, I know my gear is lackluster.  I am comfortable relying on my ability to not stand in green clouds till I can hit a few more pickup raids.
I don't know how much pvp your guild does, but I usually run a disc priest for that.  I'm not gladiator material but I'm certainly viable for struggling up to 1800 with.

Finally, here is the gear summary I promised.  Stop reading if you are not critically evaluating my gear sets, the app is over.
Tizzlewump's notable gear holes are legs, chest, and ring.  The pvp cloak/neck should be better, but really are on par with ToC25.  By Tuesday she can have Woven Death legs, Merlin's chest, T10 hat, and a friendly AV ring.  The crafted chest may have to be delayed for 2t9's sake, I'm not sure yet.  I may swap to T10 chest and keep T9 hat, it will probably come down to hit cap.
Wumpletizz can do basically the same thing.  The ToC crafted chest and saronite legs are big upgrades and she is due for a frost emblem purchase (gloves if you care).  It's just that when she's done she still has weak boots and trinkets.  I'm not worried about finding boots but melee trinkets are a nightmare to upgrade.
I am not trying to be cheap, I just have no reason to buy raid gear for characters that won't raid with it.  The saronite stays uncrafted till I pick a toon.

    Re: Tizzlewump - Mage

    10.  (cont'd)

I realized I should say more about raiding in Wrath.  My achievement trail is impossible to follow.

In Naxx we still had plenty of people so I raided on my mage.  That lasted till we realized that fury was stupidly overpowered so my warrior swapped in for the duration.  When Ulduar dropped I switched back to my mage which we steadily cleared till summertime and everyone lost interest in raids.  Attrition may have happened too.  We we were up to Hodir/Freya down when raids stopped happening.

We didn't start again till a week before Anub went live.  This is where Wumpletizz switched to prot and tanked till we had the Valkyr down on heroic.  We managed 2 nights on Anub when either ICC dropped or more people went AWOL, I forget which.

ICC was a struggle with pickups.  I was still prot but we had lost important dps.  We got Festergut and Rotface easily enough, but our Blood Princes kill was pretty much the last night we had a real guild raid.  Losing our ace healer immediately after was the nail in the coffin.

    Re: Tizzlewump - Mage

Tizzlewump, I am sorry that we have taken so long to give you a responce.  Thank you for takeing the time to apply with our guild.  Someone should be contacting you in game or through a PM on these forums in the near future.  Please help us out by /joining Elysiumrecruits.  This will allow us to see when you are in game and get in touch with you.  Also be online and ready to raid no later than 7:45 server time on Tuesday.  I can't promise you a spot but I can promise you that you will only get one if you are online and ready to go.  Thank you.
